Your Brain.

With my parents and sisters here during the weekend, there definitely isn't time for me to update my blog. But still, a sacrifice that is much worth it, i dare say. My weekend was full of spending time with my family, hanging out with some classmates, prayer sessions, Math Olympiad, parent teacher meeting and of course, preparation for my esl presentation. Still did so badly after preparing for it. Pretty obvious that I just can't do presentations. *Makes mental note to NOT do any jobs which involve presentations in the future.*

I've been wondering about what I'll write for this post, and then I came across an e-mail which was quite interesting. I pretty much just stared at it for a full 3 minutes.
Clockwise? Anti-clockwise?

This was what was written:

If you see the lady turning clockwise, you're using your right brain.
If you see it the other way, you are using left brain.
Some people do see both ways, but most people see it only one way.

Right brain thinkers: uses feeling, “big picture” oriented, imagination rules, symbols and images, present and future, philosophy & religion, can “get it” (i.e. meaning), believes, appreciates, spatial perception, knows object function, fantasy based, presents possibilities, impetuous, risk taking

Left brain thinkers: uses logic, detail orientedfacts rule, words and language, present and past, math and science, can comprehend, knowing, acknowledges, order/pattern perception, knows object name, reality based, forms strategies, practical, safe.

This was proved at Yale University , over a 5 year study on the human brain and it's functions.

Try changing it's direction voluntarily. It's kinda cool.

Blogging Addiction.

I know that I have better things to do. But do you know just how addictive blogging is? I think i'm addicted to it the way people can be addicted to drugs. Well, that's the only explanation I can find about me updating it so frequently. I also think that I'm past caring what other people's opinions are about what I write. You may think it boring. But guess what? I DON'T CARE!

Anyway, I just found some interesting articles about blogging addiction (CBE). Here's the summary to what I found and what I made up. =p

Name of disease: CBE (Chronic Blogging Epidemic)

Etiology: It is caused by the CBE virus, such as blogspot. The virus can be deadly, in a sense that you might end up failing your subjects or fired if you didn’t treat it earlier.

Epidemiology: The disease can affect everyone but more commonly between ages 10-30

Symptoms of blogging addiction:
1. The blogging addict's eyes may display a glossed-over appearance, often accompanied by a vacant stare

2. The blogging addict's mouth may be drier than normal. On the isolated occasions when the blogging addict does converse in-person with others, his or her conversation generally revolves around blog subjects and cyberspace friends.

3. The blogging addict's hands may contain fingertip callouses from overuse of computer keys. The favored hand, which generally controls the blogging addict's mouse or other cursor device, may exhibit carpal-tunnel syndrome or (in milder cases) occasional muscle spasms.

4. The blogging addict's spine may reveal excessive curvature, often matching the angle of the computer monitor's screen.

5. The blogging addict's gluteus maximus, or rear end, may seem to have increased in size. The region's muscle tone may be diminished from lack of exercise.

6. Blogging addiction also exhibits several psychological symptoms, such as demonstrating an overall withdrawal from interpersonal contact, social participation and spontaneity

7. An electrical power outage, or a modem mishap, may send the blogging addict into a full-blown panic attack

8. BLOGARRHEA (most dangerous).
eg. a constant need to express minute and inconsequential details of daily existence into the blogosphere. This expression is often accompanied by photographs.

Medication: A physician may prescribe Im-modem-ing for blogging addicts with chronic blogarrhea. This seems to shut down the disorder completely, at least for quite some time.

Ok. Maybe my blogging addiction isn't really that serious.

Daphie~

Might not be able to blog for a few days. Will be busy for a week or so, because my da-jie is here. Surprised that I have a da-jie? Well, it's non other than dear Daphne. She's back from Australia for her holidays, which is for a month. Really glad that she came and look for me. It still makes me wonder how she understands about everything even though we do not have blood ties.

Ok. I know that this is really stupid in a fairy-tale kinda way. But I think that she's my guardian angel. Stop laughing! In reality, I know she'll be there for me whenever I need her. Just like how she was there when I broke down during my SPM trials, although physically, she was studying for SAM in Taylors. Just like how she was there when I was fretting over my results in SAM. Just like how she was here yesterday, talking to me about my dilemma over choosing my career pathway. And also just like another million other little things she was there for, for the past 14 years of my life (yup. I've known her since I was 4 or 5).

Truly missed the way my family and her family would meet up on random weekends just for dinner. Also missing the way my parents will bring her along during our trips back to Terengganu since we were young (And yes, all my cousins, aunts and uncles know about her =p).

To be fair, as I was a mischievious kid, she got a hard time, i believe. Or was that an understatement? Anyway, I will remember what she always tells me. "I'm just a phone call away."

Have to go and finish up my physics info-search which is due on friday. Oh, and we have write out for chemistry practical test tomorrow. My busy life is back.

Busy Weekend

Time to update i guess. Went to play pool with Jiayi on Friday night. Ok, I know it's dangerous but it was with my mum's permission. Surprising? Me too.

Community service on Saturday. Yes. I'm still doing community service here although i've left the Convent's Interact Club. It's about teaching children to read. Had to walk a kid back to his house with Jennie as the kid was sick. Poor boy. After the community service, I went to some talk held in Taylors. Went for both talks on pharmacy and accountancy. Was in a dilemma as to whether to choose pharmacy or accountancy as a career. After the accountancy talk, i came out thinking that it's a good career. Then, I went to the pharmacy talk with Avril. When the talk ended, Avril came out more certain of her decision to be a lawyer. Well, as for me... Needless to say, I was still undecided. Sigh. Went to my cousin, Kuen's house in Klang in the evening. I reached at 7pm, which is the time she finish her taekwando class. Sorry, Jennie. I guess I really did made you more moody.

Sunday. My cousin brought me to the pharmacy she was working in to learn and to help me decide whether it is what i wanted. (Thanks Kuen, her boss, and her colleagues =p). Managed to learn quite some stuff. Was kinda fun guessing what the drugs were used for. But still unsure of my future. After that, Kuen brought me to meet up with her friends. She even treated me to a drink in Secret Recipe. Really treasure the relationship I have with my dear cousin sis.

Just found out that 'the awesomest Kai', as he named himself, went and spread my blog around. Ok. More like telling Travis to ask more people to spam my blog, as Kai puts it. *Makes mental note to skin him alive*.

Time to get my work done. Till the next post.

Que Sera, Sera

I really do not understand what i've been worrying about these few days. Recent nights, i go to bed feeling very tired but once my head hit the pillow, many thoughts fill my head. And overwhelming, random feelings come with it. Sudden happiness and sudden sadness. Its like, i'm going crazy or something. Usually toss and turn in bed for about one and a half hour before sleeping. It's becoming a routine since after the holidays. Nearly could'nt wake up for classes this morning. And then in the afternoon, i'll be dead tired that i have to sleep for an hour.

Besides, I can't seem to find back the drive i had before and during the last exam. It's so frustrating. Was emo-ing for a full hour in class before finally managing to smile again. So unlike my character. Sigh. Wonder how long will it take for this feeling to pass? Is it because of that matter? Or is it a stage of growing up? If it is because of that matter, I guess i must learn to cast my feelings aside at least till i've come to a decision. And if it is a stage of growing up, can i not grow up? My last explanation for this is that i really am going crazy. Well, if this is the case, i guess it'll be easier for me. Just send me to the mental hospital? No need to lead such a stressful life. Muahahaa. Anyway, i guess i'm really me again. At least for now.

Just mere rantings. Come to think of it, que sera, sera. And that shall be my theme for today. It's spanish for 'what must come, will come'. I'll just have to take it as it goes.

For now.

ps. the haze here is real BAD.

College...

I'm bored. Jia yi's having exams and in 3 days, she'll be home in jb. I'll be having a room all to myself. That means? Go figure.

Anyway, finished my bio presentation yesterday. I just realized how stupid it actually is. Having to prepare a three minutes presentation for three whole hours. And then still incredulously managed to flunk half of it.

Had chemistry lab session this morning. All of us were pretty rusty. Kept breaking stuff for some reason. Even my lab partner broke a conical flask. Rule in the lab: partner broke apparatus, both must pay. But... Haha. Ask Yu Chuan. =)

Realized that maths teacher starting to notice my presence in class. Really dislike it. Can't the lecturers see that i'm quite stupid? Everytime can't answer their questions, but they still want me to answer.

Pretty much just rantings about college. Geez. What kinda life am I leading! Neway, might be going to watch movie or sing k with jiayi they all because they finishing their exam this week. Gotta go wash my clothes now.

Don't ask me what. That's what!

Just 2 posts and it's already like a dead blog. Well, i guess that's my style. Too bad, you have to just bear with me. =p

First day back in Taylors. For some reason, my heart is very heavy. Really very 'sienz' to come back and study. Plus, first day back in college must collect mid-year results. Luckily it can all be collected in 1 day, thanks to very efficient teachers. Gosh! Can't bear it for another day. About my results... Nevermind. Don't wanna torture my beloved friends with all the rantings.

Anyway, the reason i'm inspired to blog today is because of a certain friend in college (Shien Yee), whose birthday was yesterday. We (Me, Betty and Mei Yan) celebrate it for her today. Went to Baker's Cottage to buy a cake for her, with her choosing the cake. And guess what happened? Joke of the year~!

Bought a fruit cake. Then the waiter at the counter ask her to write something on a piece of paper. So, she wrote what she wanted to order and ask me what i wanted for lunch. I told her 'rendang nasi lemak'. She then wrote 'rendang nasi lemak X2', 1 for herself. She handed the paper to the waiter who gave her a 'weird look'.

We went back to our seats happily waiting for our food. As the cake came first, we took it out to cut and eat it. On top of the cake, there were nice pink icing writings in front of the 'happy birthday stick'. (Is it call a stick? Anyway, that's what Jia Yi, my room mate says.) It wrote 'RENDANG NASI LEMAK'!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seems that blur Shien Yee mistook the paper which the waiter gave originally for message on the cake and use it to order lunch.

In case you are curious, this is how it looks like.
