Outing again.

Went to City Square with Agnes, Eric and Brandon. Eric treated us to lunch. Then, he and Brandon happily ditched us. Real gentleman right, Agnes?

Then, Agnes and I went to the cinemas to watch Alvin and The Chipmunks 2. They are real cute. Didn't regret it. After that, we gossip-ed so much that we had to find a place to sit as we weren't exactly looking at where we were going. I guess that's what all Convent girls do when they are together? Anyway, we ended up in Coffee Bean.

Can't believe I've known Agnes for 12 years. Although I wasn't very close to her last time, I guess studying SAM together for that few months really did bring us a little closed. =) Hope she'll be happy doing whatever course she might take in the future. Oh ya, Agnes. Thanks for the shirt.

PS. Oh no. I haven't watched Avatar. And Sherlock Holmes. And Feng Yun.
PSS. Where are we going for our countdown??

Celebrating Christmas

I'm back from Terengganu, my grandmother's house. Celebrated Christmas there. Nearly all my cousins were there. Seems like it was because it might be our last time together before I leave for Melbourne. Touched larrrr. =))

To celebrate Christmas, we decided to have performances. We had group meetings everyday we were there, sometimes till 3 am. I was the eldest there as our older cousins haven't arrived. Thus, yours truly naturally had to assigned jobs to the rest of them.

After 3 days of preparation, it was Christmas. I think my sister, Cassie had the toughest job of all. Imagine trying to teach some dance steps to 3 people who didn't dance before. Had a good laugh when we were practicing. Our first performance on the itinerary was our dance, Wonder Girls' - Nobody. Next, we performed sign language for the song,放我的真心在你的手心. Loved that song. Then, we had another dance. This time by Queenie and Cassie, who can dance. They performed Circus, by Britney. Lastly, we sang Do Re Mi and some Christmas carols, to entertain the small kids. It was so fun that we had encores. For our encores, we pulled adults to join us. Our uncles and aunts are a sport. They did whatever poses we made them do. After that, we even danced to a song named Shake It, Baby. It was a little like doing aerobics though.

Finally, we ran out of ideas for performances. Next thing I knew, we were playing a game of 'the more we get together'. Adults joined us. Their hand-eye coordination were not as good as ours. So much such that we were laughing at them the whole night. Next, we had exchanging gifts. It was my first time exchanging Christmas presents. Coincidentally, I fished Rene's name and she fished my name from the box. So, I exchanged my gift with her. I gave her a USB fan, shape like a cute frog. She gave me a huge blue clip, to clip papers. It'll come in useful as I'll bring it to Melbourne with me next year.

We went to the beach everyday. Made a turtle laying eggs with Rene and Cassie on our last day there.

Terengganu's beaches are still the best, in my opinion. I don't mind celebrating Christmas like this every year. =)

PS. Pictures grabbed from Dellynn. Credits to her. Lazy to download mine lar.

Singapore Again!?

Been pretty busy these days. Sister and cousins in some Buddhist camp. So i had to find some way to entertain myself. Schedule as below.

Wednesday
Frightful day. Results for SAM were released. Slept like a log until my mum had to kick me outta bed. Yup. I got 94.8. A tiny bit below my expectation as I was hoping for 95. But enough to get me into university and course of my first choice. =) Thought of going to collect my results on that day. But results only coming out on Thursday. Next thing I knew, I'm in Singapore... zoo. Ahahhahha. Thanks to my 2 super young cousins who are hyper noisy. Nearly died on the way there. Then, went to night safari. See animals till I nearly became 1 myself. Went home. Managed to chat with Mei Yan before I hit the sack.

Thursday
Another day in Singapore. Not the zoo this time... Bird Park. Wonder why I agreed to it huh? Walked till i nearly died of exhaustion. Now, when i close my eyes, I feel like there are owls or eagles nearby. Went home in the evening. Then, my mum and I went and check out my sis n cousins in the Buddhist camp as there were some activities where parents are involved. Then, my parents, my super young cousins and Siao Chui they all had supper together with Daphne and her family. Had a nice, long chat with her.

Going to Singapore again tomorrow. This time, we are going to Sentosa Island. Finally. I can see some fun coming my way. =)

Will be posting up pictures real soon. Countdown starting 3 years from now. Stay tuned. =)

Professional Badminton

Yonex Super Series in Johor ended. So fast. Just as I was getting hooked on to watching the games.

Went to the stadium with my mum, Cassie and Edmund. It was Edmund's first time watching a real game. Wong Mew Choo was up first. She improved tremendously. She was quite accurate in placing the shuttlecock. She manage to tire her opponent out long before the game ended. Thus, she was able to secure her gold medal. Proud of her.

I remember also watching women and men doubles from Malaysia. Women doubles were represented by Chin Eei Hui and Wong Pei Tty. Their world ranking is number 5. They too managed to win in the finals. In my opinion, Chin's smashes were quite good.

Malaysia sent 2 teams for the men doubles. As expected, Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong were there. Made quite a good deal of mistakes. I think they are the best men's pair in Malaysia. However, their inconsistency are often disappointing. Next pair are Fairuzizuan and Zakry. Both pairs did not qualify for the semi finals.

Lastly, we have Datuk Lee Chong Wei playing against Bao Chun Lai. Was really excited to watch them play. However, Bao Chun Lai's same old knee problems caused him lots of trouble during the game. He wasn't smashing as he usually is. Towards the end of the game, both of them looked more like they were having a training. I'd expected much more, as Bao Chun Lai had just won the Japan Super Series 2 months ago. Anyway, our Datuk won Park Soon Hwan in the finals.Weird huh? Have to call him datuk although he's only 27? Finals was an easy game for him. He played like a tiger - playing with its prey before swallowing him up. He slowed the pace of the game initially, but during the second set, he moved fast. I've seen Lin Dan using this tactic before. I guess it's only for the super pros?

Another game etched deeply in my mind was when Peter Gade (Denmark) played against Boonsak Ponsana (Thailand) . I think they are pretty good. Although with the Lin Dan and Chong Wei, it'll be tough for them to be the cream of the crop.

This Super Series wasn't fantastic as many China and other top badminton players wasn't here. Plus, tickets were quite expensive compared to other games my friends and I went during the previous years. Their next game will be in Laos. Somebody, sponsor my air tickets please.=)

By the way, my family and I had dinner after watching the match in the stadium on Friday at some hawker centres. Saw nearly all the badminton players from various countries and their coach there having steamboat. Seems that the hotel they were staying was just nearby. Oh. And Bao Chun Lai looks better in person. =) I've said this for the 10000000th time. He caught me staring and pointing at him. Oops. But I guess he should be used to it by now. If only I had been thick-skinned enough to walk up and have steamboat with them......

Day Out With Best-ies

Nothing beats hanging out with your best friends especially those in high school. =P Marvellous day out, I'd say. We met at the cinema in City Square at about 12 p.m. After buying tickets for 'New Moon', we went to have our lunch. We took a long time to decide where to have lunch. After practically standing in front of every restaurant we can see, we decided to have our lunch in SDS.

Then, off we go to the theatre.....'s toilet. Did what most Convent girls do there ~ take pictures. One particular conversation I remember outside the toilet. It goes something like this.
Wan Ying : Don't sit with Zetong later. She talks a lot in the cinema.
The rest of us : Harr? Really r?? *Starts finding every other person to sit with except Zetong*
Zetong : *wave tickets smugly, as all our tickets are with her.*
Cindy : Forget it lar. You better go sit on the steps in the cinema.
Anyway, in the end, Siew Lee and I had to sit beside her.

The movie was kinda boring. I think the only reason people will like it is because there are quite a few hot guys in the movie. =)
Went to get some drinks from 'Cool Blog' after the movie. After that, we went shopping for Wann Chiing's dress. Not fruitful. Went home after that. Didn't have enough time to gossip. Hmm.. should have another outing, right? Oh. And I was kinda surprise Audrey didn't come. Although I believe she certainly knows that we need to hear her side of the story..? Haiz.

Here are some pictures.

Long Holidays

Looks like I'm really afraid I can't play enough. Yesterday, I went for softball training to try and train my juniors and of course, to get some exercise. I guess their beloved Convent headmistress still isn't use to the JB Convent culture where past headmistresses really trust the seniors. The current headmistress seem to me as if she is very afraid to get into trouble. =( No wonder the juniors' skills seem rusty. Wonder how many of them will get to represent Johor next year?

After 4.5 hours of softball, I went and meet up with Agnes. We went to Redbox together. Had a super fun k session. I think I'm having a sore throat after singing for 4 hours. We also met Audrey who was busy working. She still seems pretty upset over what happened recently. Will meet up with her and the other five of them on Friday. Yay! I can't wait. *counting down the minutes =P*

At night, I went for badminton with my cousins, Cassie, my dad and his friends. Looks like my badminton skill are going down the drain. Oh. Wait. I don't think I had any to begin with. Anyway, played badminton till 11.30 pm. Was dead tired. Quite a fun day, right? At least I didn't have to stay at home and rot. Hehe.

This evening, I went for my first yoga session. With Cassie, Daphne and her mum. Really couldn't stop laughing at the beginning as i was super stiff. Luckily the teacher didn't kick me out of his class. I will be going for softball training tomorrow morning again. Gotta wake up early. So, Nights.

Surprise!!

I'm kinda certain my blog got no readers already. Hmm... not a bad thing. =) Kinda lost the feeling to blog. Probably because i was starting to realise it's nearly the end of the year. In the beginning of the year, I kept telling myself that 1 year is too short, didn't wanna make too many close friends. Memories are roots. Plant too many of them and you'll be leaving in the past? I dunno what kinda thinking this. Quite stupid huh? Anyway, i guess that didn't work out. I'll still be missing the whole lot of you anyway. G3 rockss.

Went back to Subang on Tuesday with Daphne who's going there to meet her friends. Real noisy, that monkey. Halfway through the journey, she told the bus to stop as she needs to go to the ladies. When she came back, she told me, loudly, 'Eh, I think I'm the only 1 who went down for the toilet stop ya? Very paiseh.' Then she laughed. Aiyo. Those who seen her should know the way she laughed. Regret that i didn't bring some paper bags to cover my face with. =) Went out for dinner with my cousins.

Had my first prom on Wednesday. Betty and I went to some shop in Pyramid to get our makeup and hair done. I'd say, kinda scary. Had people staring at us as we still had normal clothing on with real thick makeup. They probably think that we were crazy or something. Went to Sunway Resort Hotel at night. Food was not bad but PA system sucks bad. Actually we wasted a lot of food.I think we wasted bout 3 dishes? I think nobody in our class seen the last 3 dishes as we were taking loads of pics at the corridor. The boys are real posers. They even went to the gents to take more pics. I always thought that those were girls rights? Then we went clubbing as there were free tickets. More like just going in to take a look. Didn't stay there for a long time. I don't think I'm stepping in again unless I'm going in with a humongous group of friends.

Was packing my stuff on Thursday, when i received a random message from Bruce. Next second, I was in the car with Jon, Chin Fei, Jay, Bruce and Navin as the driver. Went to the theatres to watch Planet 51. Went to the arcade too. Haven't been there for awhile. Kinda fun. Thanks loads. =P

Came back to Johor on Friday. Went to my cousin's house on Thursday night with Daphne. Never did stop eating in their house. Shall thank my cousins here, for sending us to the bus station. I'd say, we were Text Colorkinda racist. In the bus, I was asking Daphne about how the Malaysians are doing in Australia. And of course our topic went over to... Then, I turned around and look. The whole bus was full. All Malays except 4 chinese including us. We were lucky we weren't asked to get down of the bus. The rest of the journey was a much quieter one.

Hmm.. Must go play pool with my roomie, Jiayi again when i go back to Subang. Must go snowflakes too. Must meet up with my G3-mates. And the list goes on...

Life and Music are Inseperable

Yup. I know I'm supposed to be studying now for trials next week. Or at least be doing my Investigative Design Skill for Physics, which I think is totally killing me. Can't blame me right? I can't even carry out an experiment properly without failing 50% of the time. Designing experiments? I must be out of my mind. Anyway, will have to bear with it as it 's the last time i'm having anything to do with experiments, as most of you know I'll be doing Accountancy in about 4 months time.

Kinda sorry to leave my blog in the fridge for so long, (leng cang). =)

I couldn’t help myself and came to blog when I saw this must clearer version of the song I'm addicted to. I know this song is an old song (about a year ago, i think), but I just couldn't find a clear version and there's no music video for it. So, since I found it, here's what I want to share:

小宇 - 唯一的唯一 (Wei yi de wei yi, by Xiao Yu)

Now, back to my Investigative Design Skill. =( And, all the best to people having their exams.

With Friends and Holidays

Last Wednesday

We had our Charity Carnival. PText Colorroud that all our nyonya kuihs were sold out. After that, me, Mei Yan and Jennie went to Sunway Pyramid for movie - 'The Proposal'. Nice movie. Recommended by the movie expert, Elsie. =) Went and play bowling before watching movie as we were still early. My bowling skills dropped. Now, it's just barely above 100. Not that I had much to start with. =(

Last Friday

Got my Chem paper back. Wann Chiing, hellppp!! Whole paper red! =( Wonder what was i thinking when I was doing that paper. Oh ya. Homework. Got a whole lot of proposals and tutorials. Must start on it soon. Looked forward to my hols anyway. In the middle of classes, got a random message from Siew Lee saying that she and her college mates coming to Sunway Pyramid after visiting Monash Univesity. Jiayi and I went and meet them after classes. Glad to see so many familiar people from JB in Pyramid. We not only saw Audrey, Siew Lee, Hui Yin, Kenneth, Kim, Regina, Angeline and Ian, but also Pei Inn, Ye Yean and Ting Kang (from primary school). My parents came to pick me at night. Went to The Gardens Hotel where my father would be having meeting the next day.

Last Saturday

Went to Midvalley Megamall with my mum in the morning, when my dad was having his meeting. Then, my mum drove us to Times Square for me to meet up with Zetong and Wan Ying. Met them at Barbeque Plaza. Can't blame me for being late. I was never good with roads and my mum's only been there once before. Anyway, really glad that they hadn't changed. Still porcupine and ketam. Perfect. Just then, I realized how much I've missed them. The good times we had in Convent... Irreplacible.

Was supposed to meet Kar Inn on Sunday. But she couldn't make it. But guess what? I accidentally bumped into her in One Utama at night. I guess that's fate? =) She still looks the same. Although a more mature version of the Kar Inn in Form 3.

Sunday

Picked Kai Ping from Subang and travel back to JB.
Monday to Wednesday
Was a blur. Typical? I think I might just die much earlier than I am suppose to if i just continue procrastinating? Anyway, I get to watch Singapore Channel again. At least for this week. Yippie. =)

Revenge of the Earth

Aloha. Sorry for the lonnngg wait.
Anyway,
Imagine being trapped in a mudslide.
A massive one.
What would you do?

Imagine losing all your love ones,
Or worrying bout them,
Not knowing whether they are alive or dead.
People you have knew and lived with for decades.

If you are one of the survivors of these natural tragedies,
Do you have the guts to carry on living?

I’ve been thinking about these questions since the mudslide in Taiwan occurred. It was very much more serious than I thought. Looking at the images and video clips on television. My heart goes out to them, but what can I do? And to think I’ve been spending an hour or so before that, grumbling about the internet connection, which hasn’t been working since last week. (Yes, I’m guilty of not coming online because of this. Sadly, not because I’m hardcoring.) My problem seems so insignificant.

Some pictures to illustrate my point

Tragedy

Hotel collapse

Buildings tumbling

Bridge falling apart

Mud and water exploding

Land slide

Flooding in Ping Tung

Saving people

Searching for survivors / human bodies

This used to be a village (Shao Lin village)

Typhoon's true face (pretty, yet disastrous)

Have you noticed that these disasters become more frequent and more serious as years passes? So now, is this Buddha /God / Allah 's way of punishing us for ill-treating earth?

Growing Up

After leaving Johor to study in Taylor's for nearly 7 months, here's some stuff I would like to share. For those of you who are leaving home to further your studies soon, I hope this might be of some help.

Firstly, if you are like what I was, who didn't have to wash your own clothes and cook your own food at home, then learn. However, I would gladly suggest you bring your mother or your maid along. Save time, save money. Don't understand why I wrote save money? Yup. Because I think it's more expensive if you burn down the whole kitchen or worst still, the whole house just because you are learning how to cook! Oh, wait. I think that only applies to me. =(

If you are going outstation to study alone, you'll need time management and (yes, Jennie) self discipline. Both of which I'm obviously still lacking. It's not totally my fault when my laptop has a mind of its own and decides to on by itself whenever I'm studying, right? Anyway, get the picture? Without time management and self discipline, I think I'll most likely be skipping classes and hanging around places I'm not supposed to go. The best part is, my parents would'nt know it.

Besides, you'll need an extra pair of eyes. I think I've yet to really learn to heighten my senses. You must be extra cautious as you are not on land you are familiar with. Furthermore, whatever happens, you must be able to contact people who can come to you immediately (save their numbers in speed dials). When you are overseas, discrimination may also occur. Therefore, learn to be street smart from now.

Here's what my friends and I experience in the first few weeks when we came to Subang. It was quite fun for the first few days. To me, it was like going on a vacation. In fact, more like a gathering as we meet up each night for dinner. After a week, the feeling that we left home to study sunk in. Then, we had our moments. Some cried. Some were just moody. i did not cry. Not that it's something to be proud of or anything. But somehow, I just knew that if I let myself go, I'll most likely be crying whenever there are setbacks. I guess I hid that feeling well as most people thought I was going strong.

Yes. I call home every night. I knew my parents would definitely be worried if I broke down, I even willed myself into believing that since my parents already paid a huge sum for my education fees, it would be foolish to pay and come here to cry. However, this became difficult when I fell sick and am alone in a sharing room (when my room mate went back to Johor for her holidays). But with determination, it can be done. I believe my father was pretty much suprised that I took 'leaving home to study' so well. I guess it is also because I went with quite a few of my friends from Johor. They made life here bearable (in the beginning) and fun (later on as we had outings whenever we felt like it). Because of my experience in Subang, I believe I'll be able to survive if I go alone to Australia to further my studies.

For now.

Cheers.

English? Not?

I've been wanting to write this post since a month ago. Based on the link Siew Lee gave me, it seems that the Ministry of Education in Malaysia decided to change Mathematics and Sciences subjects back to Bahasa Malaysia in year 2012. Plus, they'll be hiring teachers from overseas to teach English subject to our people. http://tst.nst.com.my:8080/Current_News/NST/articles/20090709112220/Article

After only about 7 years of Mathematics and Sciences in English, are they giving up already? The government thinks that we, the people in the city are being bias as the people living in rural areas are suffering because of the teaching of Maths and Science in BM. Hereby, I shall admit that to a certain extent, we are indeed being bias. However, what about the other reasons we offer?

Personally, I think that teaching Maths and Science in English is a step towards globalization. For example, in the world of health sciences. Doctors and pharmascists from Malaysia will be able to attend and understand meetings held throughout the world without language as a barrier. The scientific terms used will be as what was taught to them before. With better equip language, doctors and pharmascists will be able to update themselves more frequently as most meetings are held in English. They'll also be more willing to attend these meetings if they do not have to spend a few more minutes thinking about the translation of certain terms. This brings benefit to health of Malaysians. Even in the Business World. Would businessman in the future be hiring translators, wasting a few minutes for the tranlators to translate some terms or whatever both parties have said for an international deal? In a Business world, time is money. Literally. That couple of minutes wasted on translation each day might have brought about an increase in Malaysia's economy status!

Ok. You might be thinking that doctors can learn the translations in University. But wouldn't that be tortoring future doctors? And would they have to study a couple more weeks or months learning the terms in English? And maybe even years, getting used to the terms? If this happens, will extra classes be given just for them to adjust these terms to English? How much more time and money must these people pay for their education? For students who intend to study overseas, they might even need to sit for a special entrance exam to universities, to test their skills for terms in English.

As I've written above, maths and science have only been taught in English for about 7 years. Has it occur to the government that the first batch of students taught in English hasn't even graduated? Of course there'll be lack of teachers who are able to teach these subjects in English. Why can't we wait for a few more years, after a few batches of students have graduated? Or else, when the first few batches of students graduate, it'll be just like the current situation. Only that, there'll be a lack of teachers who are able to teach in BM.

I believe that it'll be wiser, to spend more money and time on students in rural areas by sending teachers (can be from overseas) to teach English there. Instead of reverting the whole education system of maths and science back to BM.

If the excuse given is, "BM perlu dimartabatkan", in my opinion, we are not doing anything as serious as to cause BM to "tidak dimartabatkan". History, Geography, Kemahiran Hidup, Accounting Subjects, ERT and many other subjects are still being taught in BM. Plus, out of all language subjects, BM is still the subject which is of the longest duration in SPM examinations.

Therefore, if the Ministry of Education still insists on reverting Math and Sciences to Malay, I believe many of our citizens might choose the option of sending their child to neighbouring coutries, such as Singapore for education. Should Malaysia take this risk, where their citizens with good potential of being fine leaders in the future, might end up working for neighbouring countries due to unsatisfactory education system here?

This subject was brought forth when my mum and I were having lunch when I was back in Johor a few weeks ago. My mum said: "Should the Malaysian policy, be it the education policy or any other policy, be unsatisfactory when you are working in the future, migrate if you can. That's your only option or, be the prime minister."

Dead Blog.

Blog's dead. Totally dead? Not. Just barely alive. Exactly like me. My life. Can imagine what i went through last night to prepare for friday? Ok. Imagine having to rush out a 20 marks Moral project in a group of 4 (You might think it's better than doing it alone. Yes, if you aren't rushing for time), discuss and evaluate strength, weaknesses for Bio Practical, study for Physics Common Test and study for Chemistry Practical. All in just half a day.

Well, that's the 'reality' for SAM students. Anybody, can I buy insurance for dying a few years earlier just because of this programme? At least I'll have some money to spend in heaven? Or hell.

Schedule for next week: Maths Directed Investigation (Monday - Wednesday), ESL Text Production (Wednesday - Friday). That's only for exams. What about my pile of chemistry homework? Oh. And my Bio Presentation on Monday and Physics Investigation Design Skills Assignment.

Hence, I'm predicting that the next time I update my blog would be.... 1 week later?

I know. Other people have 24 hours a day. I too have 24 hours a day. But why isn't 24 hours a day enough for me? Why???

Ok. Probably I should start studying now. And not doing stuff sooooo last minute. Oh wait. Doesn't this sound familiar? Isn't this my new year resolution every year ever since.... I was born? Bad habits die hard. I'll try. And see what goes. =)

Should go do my homework now.

Food and Play Keeps Me Living

Started this blog on a Sunday. But was having too much fun till I couldn't find time to finish it. Went to my aunt's house on Friday night. Kinda sad that I couldn't join Brian and the rest to catch 'Transformers' in Tropicana. Anyway, managed to help my younger cousin draw a time table as she haven't really started her revisions for her upcoming PMR examinations. That's the best I can do as studying still is based on one's initiative.

On Saturday, Kuen, my older cousin and two of her classmates in Form 6, brought some friends (from Vietnam) around to have some fun. They decided to go Pulau Ketam as her friends wanted to have a look at how the modern aborigines in Malaysia live. Kuen brought me along. It's my first trip to Pulau Ketam. Kuen drove us all to the jeti and we took a boat there. There, we saw many houses made of wood. There were many also restaurants selling seafood. Many of these restaurants were side by side or just opposite to one another. Fighting for customers was inevitable. But I'll give them some credit by saying that their seafood are fresh and delicious.

In the boat on our journey back to Kuen's car, we played quite a few games. Next we went for some ice. After that, we went kite flying in a field where there was a 'wau' competition. Haven't flew a kite since I came back from Terengganu. Oh wait, that was only a month ago. Then, we went for sate near the MRT station as the two friends from Vietnam would be leaving after their 3 days here in Malaysia.

At about 10.30 p.m., my cousin's family and I went for seafood again. Then, I realised I've been eating for exactly 12 hours non-stop. I guess that's the price to pay for living in Malaysia?

Oops. Just remembered got test for Moral Studies tomorrow. Will I study for it? To be debated later.

H1N1 (Convent JB)

Dissect goats kidneys today. Was kinda fun but it stinks. =(

Well, it was rumoured that 1 of the students in Convent contracted H1N1. However, the actual thing was that it was her older sister (came back from Australia recently) who had contracted it. Once the student found out about it on Monday, she was home-quarantined. Even the taxi driver who send her home that day was quarantined.

Then, reporters came and as what they usually do, the whole incident was made such a big fuss of. Teachers had a hard time chasing them away from school grounds. The night before, some teachers were sms-ing students to bring sanitisers and face masks for prevention.

Anyway, when my sisters arrived at their school this morning, there were students lining up in the field. It seems that students have to take their temperature and have their hands cop-ed (with school cop) before entering their classes. Many students decided to go home. Teachers then had their meeting most of the morning. After recess, they had to have their temperatures checked again. When school ended, there were a group of reporters who seem to be trying to snap photos of students in their face masks.

Wonder whether it will be printed in the newspapers tomorrow. =)

Your Brain.

With my parents and sisters here during the weekend, there definitely isn't time for me to update my blog. But still, a sacrifice that is much worth it, i dare say. My weekend was full of spending time with my family, hanging out with some classmates, prayer sessions, Math Olympiad, parent teacher meeting and of course, preparation for my esl presentation. Still did so badly after preparing for it. Pretty obvious that I just can't do presentations. *Makes mental note to NOT do any jobs which involve presentations in the future.*

I've been wondering about what I'll write for this post, and then I came across an e-mail which was quite interesting. I pretty much just stared at it for a full 3 minutes.
Clockwise? Anti-clockwise?

This was what was written:

If you see the lady turning clockwise, you're using your right brain.
If you see it the other way, you are using left brain.
Some people do see both ways, but most people see it only one way.

Right brain thinkers: uses feeling, “big picture” oriented, imagination rules, symbols and images, present and future, philosophy & religion, can “get it” (i.e. meaning), believes, appreciates, spatial perception, knows object function, fantasy based, presents possibilities, impetuous, risk taking

Left brain thinkers: uses logic, detail orientedfacts rule, words and language, present and past, math and science, can comprehend, knowing, acknowledges, order/pattern perception, knows object name, reality based, forms strategies, practical, safe.

This was proved at Yale University , over a 5 year study on the human brain and it's functions.

Try changing it's direction voluntarily. It's kinda cool.

Blogging Addiction.

I know that I have better things to do. But do you know just how addictive blogging is? I think i'm addicted to it the way people can be addicted to drugs. Well, that's the only explanation I can find about me updating it so frequently. I also think that I'm past caring what other people's opinions are about what I write. You may think it boring. But guess what? I DON'T CARE!

Anyway, I just found some interesting articles about blogging addiction (CBE). Here's the summary to what I found and what I made up. =p

Name of disease: CBE (Chronic Blogging Epidemic)

Etiology: It is caused by the CBE virus, such as blogspot. The virus can be deadly, in a sense that you might end up failing your subjects or fired if you didn’t treat it earlier.

Epidemiology: The disease can affect everyone but more commonly between ages 10-30

Symptoms of blogging addiction:
1. The blogging addict's eyes may display a glossed-over appearance, often accompanied by a vacant stare

2. The blogging addict's mouth may be drier than normal. On the isolated occasions when the blogging addict does converse in-person with others, his or her conversation generally revolves around blog subjects and cyberspace friends.

3. The blogging addict's hands may contain fingertip callouses from overuse of computer keys. The favored hand, which generally controls the blogging addict's mouse or other cursor device, may exhibit carpal-tunnel syndrome or (in milder cases) occasional muscle spasms.

4. The blogging addict's spine may reveal excessive curvature, often matching the angle of the computer monitor's screen.

5. The blogging addict's gluteus maximus, or rear end, may seem to have increased in size. The region's muscle tone may be diminished from lack of exercise.

6. Blogging addiction also exhibits several psychological symptoms, such as demonstrating an overall withdrawal from interpersonal contact, social participation and spontaneity

7. An electrical power outage, or a modem mishap, may send the blogging addict into a full-blown panic attack

8. BLOGARRHEA (most dangerous).
eg. a constant need to express minute and inconsequential details of daily existence into the blogosphere. This expression is often accompanied by photographs.

Medication: A physician may prescribe Im-modem-ing for blogging addicts with chronic blogarrhea. This seems to shut down the disorder completely, at least for quite some time.

Ok. Maybe my blogging addiction isn't really that serious.

Daphie~

Might not be able to blog for a few days. Will be busy for a week or so, because my da-jie is here. Surprised that I have a da-jie? Well, it's non other than dear Daphne. She's back from Australia for her holidays, which is for a month. Really glad that she came and look for me. It still makes me wonder how she understands about everything even though we do not have blood ties.

Ok. I know that this is really stupid in a fairy-tale kinda way. But I think that she's my guardian angel. Stop laughing! In reality, I know she'll be there for me whenever I need her. Just like how she was there when I broke down during my SPM trials, although physically, she was studying for SAM in Taylors. Just like how she was there when I was fretting over my results in SAM. Just like how she was here yesterday, talking to me about my dilemma over choosing my career pathway. And also just like another million other little things she was there for, for the past 14 years of my life (yup. I've known her since I was 4 or 5).

Truly missed the way my family and her family would meet up on random weekends just for dinner. Also missing the way my parents will bring her along during our trips back to Terengganu since we were young (And yes, all my cousins, aunts and uncles know about her =p).

To be fair, as I was a mischievious kid, she got a hard time, i believe. Or was that an understatement? Anyway, I will remember what she always tells me. "I'm just a phone call away."

Have to go and finish up my physics info-search which is due on friday. Oh, and we have write out for chemistry practical test tomorrow. My busy life is back.

Busy Weekend

Time to update i guess. Went to play pool with Jiayi on Friday night. Ok, I know it's dangerous but it was with my mum's permission. Surprising? Me too.

Community service on Saturday. Yes. I'm still doing community service here although i've left the Convent's Interact Club. It's about teaching children to read. Had to walk a kid back to his house with Jennie as the kid was sick. Poor boy. After the community service, I went to some talk held in Taylors. Went for both talks on pharmacy and accountancy. Was in a dilemma as to whether to choose pharmacy or accountancy as a career. After the accountancy talk, i came out thinking that it's a good career. Then, I went to the pharmacy talk with Avril. When the talk ended, Avril came out more certain of her decision to be a lawyer. Well, as for me... Needless to say, I was still undecided. Sigh. Went to my cousin, Kuen's house in Klang in the evening. I reached at 7pm, which is the time she finish her taekwando class. Sorry, Jennie. I guess I really did made you more moody.

Sunday. My cousin brought me to the pharmacy she was working in to learn and to help me decide whether it is what i wanted. (Thanks Kuen, her boss, and her colleagues =p). Managed to learn quite some stuff. Was kinda fun guessing what the drugs were used for. But still unsure of my future. After that, Kuen brought me to meet up with her friends. She even treated me to a drink in Secret Recipe. Really treasure the relationship I have with my dear cousin sis.

Just found out that 'the awesomest Kai', as he named himself, went and spread my blog around. Ok. More like telling Travis to ask more people to spam my blog, as Kai puts it. *Makes mental note to skin him alive*.

Time to get my work done. Till the next post.

Que Sera, Sera

I really do not understand what i've been worrying about these few days. Recent nights, i go to bed feeling very tired but once my head hit the pillow, many thoughts fill my head. And overwhelming, random feelings come with it. Sudden happiness and sudden sadness. Its like, i'm going crazy or something. Usually toss and turn in bed for about one and a half hour before sleeping. It's becoming a routine since after the holidays. Nearly could'nt wake up for classes this morning. And then in the afternoon, i'll be dead tired that i have to sleep for an hour.

Besides, I can't seem to find back the drive i had before and during the last exam. It's so frustrating. Was emo-ing for a full hour in class before finally managing to smile again. So unlike my character. Sigh. Wonder how long will it take for this feeling to pass? Is it because of that matter? Or is it a stage of growing up? If it is because of that matter, I guess i must learn to cast my feelings aside at least till i've come to a decision. And if it is a stage of growing up, can i not grow up? My last explanation for this is that i really am going crazy. Well, if this is the case, i guess it'll be easier for me. Just send me to the mental hospital? No need to lead such a stressful life. Muahahaa. Anyway, i guess i'm really me again. At least for now.

Just mere rantings. Come to think of it, que sera, sera. And that shall be my theme for today. It's spanish for 'what must come, will come'. I'll just have to take it as it goes.

For now.

ps. the haze here is real BAD.

College...

I'm bored. Jia yi's having exams and in 3 days, she'll be home in jb. I'll be having a room all to myself. That means? Go figure.

Anyway, finished my bio presentation yesterday. I just realized how stupid it actually is. Having to prepare a three minutes presentation for three whole hours. And then still incredulously managed to flunk half of it.

Had chemistry lab session this morning. All of us were pretty rusty. Kept breaking stuff for some reason. Even my lab partner broke a conical flask. Rule in the lab: partner broke apparatus, both must pay. But... Haha. Ask Yu Chuan. =)

Realized that maths teacher starting to notice my presence in class. Really dislike it. Can't the lecturers see that i'm quite stupid? Everytime can't answer their questions, but they still want me to answer.

Pretty much just rantings about college. Geez. What kinda life am I leading! Neway, might be going to watch movie or sing k with jiayi they all because they finishing their exam this week. Gotta go wash my clothes now.

Don't ask me what. That's what!

Just 2 posts and it's already like a dead blog. Well, i guess that's my style. Too bad, you have to just bear with me. =p

First day back in Taylors. For some reason, my heart is very heavy. Really very 'sienz' to come back and study. Plus, first day back in college must collect mid-year results. Luckily it can all be collected in 1 day, thanks to very efficient teachers. Gosh! Can't bear it for another day. About my results... Nevermind. Don't wanna torture my beloved friends with all the rantings.

Anyway, the reason i'm inspired to blog today is because of a certain friend in college (Shien Yee), whose birthday was yesterday. We (Me, Betty and Mei Yan) celebrate it for her today. Went to Baker's Cottage to buy a cake for her, with her choosing the cake. And guess what happened? Joke of the year~!

Bought a fruit cake. Then the waiter at the counter ask her to write something on a piece of paper. So, she wrote what she wanted to order and ask me what i wanted for lunch. I told her 'rendang nasi lemak'. She then wrote 'rendang nasi lemak X2', 1 for herself. She handed the paper to the waiter who gave her a 'weird look'.

We went back to our seats happily waiting for our food. As the cake came first, we took it out to cut and eat it. On top of the cake, there were nice pink icing writings in front of the 'happy birthday stick'. (Is it call a stick? Anyway, that's what Jia Yi, my room mate says.) It wrote 'RENDANG NASI LEMAK'!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seems that blur Shien Yee mistook the paper which the waiter gave originally for message on the cake and use it to order lunch.

In case you are curious, this is how it looks like.

Tribute to my best friends

I've been wanting to write this since the end of last year. And the next think i knew, half a year has passed? Well, guess i'm a very successful procrastinator? Since I'm on vacation, here goes...Text Color

Wann Chiing
The hardworking one. The girl whom all of us go to when we do not understand what the teachers are teaching about or wasn't even listening in class. FText Coloror some reason, this smart person always seem to know what is being taught! However, she is very BLUR, and thus her nickname: sotong. Her drawings are nice. She's studying matriculation in Tangkak now. If i accepted my offer, we'll be in the same college now. Sigh. Anyway, do study hard there k? Show the Malay girls in your class that although you are the only Chinese, you still can adapt and strive!

Wan YText Coloring
The musical one. The girl who has perfect pitch. Envy her? Me too. She can't live without music. And her singing is really good. In my opinion, she looks the most fierce. I did not really dare to talk to her when i was in form 4. And I hate it that she knows about this. She always tease me with it. It's not her features that make her look scary. It's something in her aura. Especially when she's emo-ing. She's studying in Tarc now with zetong as her room mate cum class mate. Lucky her. You too must do well k?

Audrey
The straightforward one. This girl is really kinda drama. She has character and is one of a kind. She isn't afraid of getting into trouble with other people. And she doesn't really care about what other people think. But she's really a good friend. Always ready to stand up for them. Plus, she has a flair for art too. She's studying in sunway. All the best in Sunway. Oh, and don't only keep thinking about him. Must thText Colorink of us sometimes k?

Text Color
Cindy
The trustworthy one. She's nice to everybody. She's also kinda cute. Like Winnie the Pooh. You can always count on her. Oh. And she doesn't help her friends do homework, due to some bad experience. She gives good advices though. The first time I see her, a thought crossed my mind. I think i told her before. I could actually imagine her as a very successful business woman. I think I don't have to study already. I can just become a fortune teller! Anyway, all the best in form six.

Zetong Text Color
The one who always gets bullied. She shared half her table with me for the whole year when we are in form 5. Really miss those days where us 4 people using only 3 tables. Can you believe it? Till now i am still using half the table. The other half is empty, or else if i realize it, i'll put books there. She is ketam. I dunnText Coloro wText Colorhere she got this nickname from. She's the lamest in our group. Her jokes are really... cold. She's studying in Tarc with wan ying. Do take care of each other k? Oh, and don't cry at the same time? Or else me and jiayi have to go there and babysit you both.

Siew Lee
The girl who loves anime. She is octopus. Have the same birth date as my youngest sister. She's smart too. She's easy to get alText Colorong with, but she's also strong headed. Cannot take it lying down when her friends are being bullied. She's also very talkative. She's currently studying in Sunway. Haiz. If only u had come to Taylors... Anyway, all the best to you to. And don't only miss 'the red one' k? Must think of us too.

Yiyi Text Color
The hyper one. She's bubbly. And fun to be with. She's pretty helpful too. There are times where her opinions differ from ours and we just couldn't figure out the way she thinks. Anyway, hope u are happy in Sunway.
